Dark black porter poured from tap at brewery. Smell is of vanilla and espresso; taste is vanilla with malt, had some dryness toward the finish. Well done for the style.

This is very well done; great job of featuring the roasted malt notes that the style promises, and not letting anything else really intrude. Served at the tap room in a shaker pint, pours a dark mahogany with a minimal head that recedes quickly, leaving a thin crown. Nose is all kinds of roasted and slightly chocolately and coffee-like and slightly nutty malt (the latter coming out a little more in the taste). Mouthful is a little non-descript....kind of middling and maybe a little less chewy than I think would be ideal, but, eh, I don't know.

Very dark brown almost black. Smells like vanilla sugar, toasted marshmallow, earthy hop notes and toasted dark chocolate malts. Crisp carbonation and creamy body. Lighter than expected. Bitter hop notes and sweet chocolate malts dominate the flavour profile. Creamy vanilla and milk chocolate finish.
