12 oz can from drunkenmess poured into ploughshare glass.

Really hazy juicy color of orange-yellow. Creamy head of 2 fingers. Sparse lacing left behind.

Lactose and honey on the nose with sweet candied hop aromas. Reminds me of some of my NE IPA attempts. Passionfruit, orange, lemon, pineapple.

Flavor brings a strong but pleasant bitterness, strong herbal and lighter pine notes, with pithy/rindy orange, lemon, and grapefruit. Some pineapple, slight passion fruit, more orange rind, slight orange candy.

Feel is crisp and a touch over carbonated, has an acidic presence and to a much lesser extent creaminess.

Overall it's not nearly as good as Michigan's other NE IPA alternatives. Still decent, but the bitterness lingers on a bit too much for my tastes. It smells and tastes and feels almost exactly like my NE IPA attempts, and I'm not totally satisfied with them so that tells you how I sort of feel overall.

12 FL OZ can
Served in a Michigan Wolverines pint glass

This beer pours turbid and is a yellow orange color. It is topped with an inch of tan head that leaves little lacing.

The smell is oranges and alcohol. It is kind of like a screwdriver in aroma.

The taste is orange juice with a slightly bitter finish and earthy finish.

Full mouthfeel with low carbonation

This is a real solid beer from Batch. I kept trying there beer and finally found a winner for my taste.

12 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but is a recent release. Pours very hazy golden orange/amber color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy passion fruit, guava, blood orange, fruit skin, lemon, lime, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, papaya, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruit, lactose, vanilla, and pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/tart/tangy passion fruit, guava, blood orange, fruit skin, lemon, lime, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, papaya, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness; and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of juicy/tart/tangy passion fruit, guava, blood orange, fruit skin, lemon, lime, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, papaya, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, pepper, pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, white bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruit, lactose, vanilla, and pale/wheat malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness and tart/tangy fruit balance; with minimal astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and tart/tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy, sticky/resinous/rindy, and fairly crisp/acidic/tangy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Minimal warming alcohol for 10%. Overall this is a delicious fruited milkshake DIPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruit, lactose, vanilla, and pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink for the big ABV, with the moderately bitter/resinous/drying finish, not overly aggressive. Very well attenuated for the ABV. Great balance of juicy and fairly dark/earthy hops/fruit; nice wheat/oat/lactose/malt backbone, with no residual sweetness from lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example as expected.

Imperial milkshake ipa with blood orange, guava, passion fruit and lactose. Looks the part for sure, muddy orange and opaque. Smell misses the mark. I get a somewhat medicinal smell, like bactine. No fruity hop explosion like with M-43 to compare. Taste is more of that herbal medicinal twang, then some of the fruit elements. Feel is pleasantly bitter, thick and creamy mouthfeel. Then plenty of boozy warmth. The viscous milkshake hides the booze up front, but it burns pleasantly on the back. Overall some nice elements, but missing the fruit forward juice bomb smell and taste of the world class versions of the style
