Brewed with Germack Roasting Co. Burundi coffee lends notes of roast and coffee while a hefty dose of cocoa nibs and habanero add complexity, sweetness, and subtle heat.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 11/15/2019. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy tan head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, vanilla, habanero, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of dark fruit, smoke, char, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, cocoa, coffee, habanero, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with big strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, vanilla, habanero, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of dark fruit, smoke, char, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal, grassy, woody, roast, charred bitterness; and mild pepper spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, vanilla, habanero, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, dark/brown bread/crust, dark fruit, smoke, char, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, cocoa, coffee, habanero, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with a fantastic roast/hop bitter/sweet and spiciness balance; with no cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol for 6%, with minimal lingering pepper heat after the finish. Overall this is an outstanding oatmeal coffee stout. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, cocoa, coffee, habanero, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/charred/drying finish. Fantastic soft/silky feel. Awesome balance of rich malts, fruity/nutty coffee, cocoa, and habanero complexity; with mild earthy hops and fruity yeast. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example. Best in all variants. Mild on the peppers, but nice flavor presence. Not overwhelming on any aspect.
