On tap at the source, Weyerbacher in Easton. Clocks in at 7.8% (last year's was 6.7%).

Malty, bready, dry finish. Sap. Brick-oven, gently licked. Sweet around the edges, aromas of root beer.

Decent beer, plus they contribute $ towards ALS research. Win-win.

A - Pours a medium amber color with a thick, frothy, cream colored head with nice retention, light carbonation.

S - Mango, papaya, juicy red grapefruit, pineapple, peach, pine resin.

T - Sweet juicy tropical fruit up front with a very heavy piney resin and lingering grapefruit bite on the end. There's a very short malt sweetness in the beginning which fades really quick. Resiny, fruity, and a huge lingering bitterness that gives the impression it's way bigger than the 77 IBU's it's rated at.

M - Medium body, light pricklies on the tongue, sucks the spit off the tongue and gives a "bone dry" finish.

O - This beer is all about the hops and kudos to Weyerbacher for this West Coast style hop bomb. (Unfortunately it's only selectively available on tap and in growlers.) This beer is outstanding and I applaud Weyerbacher for putting their best foot forward and knocking this out of the park. This is once and done beer and if they did this year around I'd definitely keep this in the fridge as a staple beer.
