golden amber, with crystal clear clarity was laid before me. There was a nice three-inch high head of white foam that came over the top, but then folded down quickly in on itself and left behind only token traces around the edges. Nice side glass presentation and a good amount of carbonation could be seen streaking up toward the top throughout.

The aroma was huge and full of fresh citrus hops. Lots of orange and grapefruit tones in here and a good amount of sweetness as well. Very fresh aroma. The flavor followed along the same path, very crisp, with a sharp cutoff in the finish. Very nice use of pine and orange flavors, with a somewhat sticky and fresh hop taste. Very nicely done, akin to the two hearted, Odell's, and Leather lips IPA's. The finish left me quickly, but had a good amount of drying and bitter flavors in it. Nice sessionable IPA.

Decent beer. The last in my flight at RFD Washington. It smelled of grass, hops, grapefruit, and pine. There was also a sugary/sour smell to it. The taste was good - nice earthy piney notes, with a good amount of hops mixed in. I had high hopes for this beer as I really enjoy the brewery's Double Simcoe IPA. This beer didn't disappoint, and I would definitely have it again.

Appears a hazy orange amber with a small white cap that fades into a small collar. Mild spotty lacing is left around the glass.
Smell is of of caramelized & roasty malts with mild grass notes.
Taste is of the same aromas...nothing special. Run of the mill style IPA.
Mouthfeel is dusty, metallic, bitter, and mildly sour.
I'm glad I wasted $5 at Michael's Deli, who manages to rape everyone who wants to buy beer there.

Very thin head on a deep reddish gold pour...head doesn't stick around for many formalities.

Scent is a little atypical for an IPA, I think. The hops aren't as obvious as some of the malty notes are more clear along with some little hints of hoppiness.

The flavor is kind of bland for what you'd hope for from an IPA. The hops are kind of lost under a pretty thick blanket of maltiness, and there are a few off notes that are almost sour and funky to my tongue.

Overall: This one is completely forgettable. The flavor just isn't packing much hoppiness, and the maltiness that is there is pretty subdued and not too enticing. Weyerbacher makes some fantastic beers, but this isn't one of them.

Pours out of the bottle a light copper color with a frothy and creamy tan head. Smells hoppy, but not really of any distinct hop aromas I am familiar with. Kind of a generic hop smell if you will. Just smells kind of bitter I suppose, maybe a little citric. Taste is somewhat bitter upfront, with a small onslaught of citrus and pine like hops. Flavors are not that strong, and this all could be due to age. Slight malt backing, but nothing really noticeable. Mouthfeel is slightly higher than that of a macro. Pretty damn drinkable though, since there isnt that much here.

This IPA has a simple pic of the Taj Mahal on the label. That’s it!

Tight 1” tan head over a ruby golden pour loaded with tons ‘o fizzles, leaving a wavy lattice lace down the glass.

Contains WEYER’s “signature house aroma” that WEYER is so well known for. It’s a touch of wet cardboard and, dare I say, A-1 steak sauce. Yeah, there are hops underneath there too, buried under the chewy body.

Flavors are of a singular dry sour almost creaminess with a dry wheat bread doughy aftertaste. Spicy, hard to place hints also come out. For the basic hophead, go for my favorite WEYER: Hops Infusion. This is not for the steady level IPA hophead, but rather more for the daring hophead.

Last swigs: WEYER is my first true craft beer love, but we must be objective. My personal preference for IPA is more along the nuveau genre, ass kickin’ IPAs i.e. STONE, BELLS, 3FLOYDS and VICTORY. WEYER IPA clings a bit too much onto their signature house style best suited in their ESB but not highly valued in an IPA. WEYERBACHER exceeds in strength and innovative areas. This might improve immensely if they would drop the heavy punch, just this time, and venture towards a more floral, dare I say fruity IPA realm, but this will not impede my wallet from coughing up the duckets to WEYER.

Beer is good. Happy local beering.

Pouring from a bottle into a tulip glass at room temp., it pours an amber color with an essense of peach. It leaves a 1 finger-width thick head that is white, lacy, and very condensed. Aroma is lots of earthy hops w/ citrus aromas also. Maybe a little caramel found in the aroma too that accompanies a grassy note. Taking a sip, the front is a little caramel flavor leading to grapefruits. The finish is a bit grassy and bitter. Not as much piney hops in flavor as I hoped for; the hops was more floral and citrus in taste. Feel is well balanced w/ moderate carbonation and smoothness through the last swallow. Medium bodied and decent. A decent springtime brew.

The beer pours a nice golden color with a thick frothy offwhite head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is decent. It has a weird pale malt scent with some breadlike notes and a bit of citrus smelling hops in the background. The taste is decent as well. It has an earthy pale malt palate that is quite bitter and musty on the finish. This has got to be the worst beer they brew. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a medium/full bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is an average IPA. It is nice and bitter, but the overall flavor and aroma are sub par. I'm surprised Weyerbacher produces this. It's one and done for me.

I enjoyed a 12 oz bottle of this brew in a pint glass. The beer was outside temp (50 degrees F)
The beer poured a clear copper color with a small bright white head developing. Aroma is dominated by hops with a mix of sour grapefruit and mild pine mixing nicely. FIrst sip reveals an average body and mild carbonation. Flavor is hoppy just as the nose advertises. Some pine and a bit of grapefruit combine and create an overall bitey/bitter taste. The beer is smooth and easy to drink but lacks any malt backbone to carry the hoppiness. A decent brew.

Dark orangish amber--heavy on the orange--with a very slight reddish cast if the fading daylight isn't playing tricks on my eyes. The light beige head is dense with an abundance of fine pits on its superior surface and is leaving an impressive amount of lace. The nose is nicely hoppy with a mixture of citrus peel (primarily) and ripe orchard fruit. Several hop varieties were undoubtedly used and have been combined into one marvelous IPA nose.

The hops seem to have switched places during the short journey from my nose to my mouth. The fruity-herbal hops are now uppermost which gives the beer more of an English IPA or an ESB vibe. The amount of hop bitterness and hop flavor is middle-of-the-road for the stated style. Although it doesn't finish as hoppy it might, it does gain in bitterness and hop flavor with warming. Fair compensation, I'd say.

A solid malt backbone contributes caramel flavor and some degree of firmness. The body doesn't reach beyond medium which allows some of the assertiveness to be lost in the second half of the mouthful. With no trace of mouthcoating or flavor linger, this is one of those IPAs that evaporates on the finish, leaving the tongue clean. Nothing wrong with that, especially since what came before is so good.

Weyerbacher's version of an IPA is a fine one indeed. Even though it isn't overly hoppy, it favors the hoppy side of the scale just enough to earn my approval. Thanks to blitheringidiot for the bottle.
