12oz bottle poured into a snifter

A- pours a clear golden color with a one-finger foamy white head that has short retention

S- peppery yeast up front gives notes of clove, banana and phenols. Undertones of pear, pineapple & orange peel. Slightly doughy malt

T- light and fruity up front with notes of pear, tropical fruit and citrus peel, followed by some spicy and peppery yeast that gives notes of clove and banana. The finish is long and lingers of spicy yeast and slightly bready malt

M- light body with moderate carbonation leads to a slightly foamy mouthfeel that continues into a dry finish

O- impressive amount of flavor for a beer under 5% abv, nice Belgian yeast adds some fruity notes that makes it very drinkable

12 oz bottle poured into Stella Artois chalice/snifter thing.

Hazy gold color with a fluffy head of 1 finger, slight wispy lace on the sides.

Aroma is strikingly similar to my homebrewed NE IPA's, perhaps I should dial back on the hefe yeast a bit. There's some decent orange peel, candy sweetness, and if agitated enough, some banana/banana runt and clove. Some peaches and cream as well.

Flavor is hay, peaches, banana, some metallic elements, and a grainy finish. It's a lot like a lighter cream ale to me. The flavor is lacking, but what's there is entirely crushable and delicious.

Feel is crisp and clean and then it wells up into a creaminess that only a Belgian beer can bring, Crisp finish, slight clinging starchiness.

Overall, a very boring beer, but something that I could easily pick if I wanted to drink for 3 hours straight and have 10 of something. It's basically a great ball park beer.

Pours an off-clear straw, little white head, not much retention, no lace.
Smells like pils malt, bananas, generic phenols.
If you can dig it, it tastes like a helles lager fermented with a Trappist yeast.
Light bodied and fairly effervescent. If nothing else, it's pretty drinkable and refreshing.
Not bad, but there are a lot of better Belgian-style session beers out there.

Sample 12 oz. bottle from the Weyerbacher rep today.
Moderate to vigorous yields a 3/4 inch white head over a slightly hazy to nearly bright, light golden body with no lacing. Definite funk on the nose with some fruit (mostly banana) and spice (mostly clove.) Flavors of their Belgian yeast and spice (pepper) and fruit (bananas.) Good feel and overall a nice little Belgian Pale Ale right here. Cheers!

This is my first Weyerbacher beer. Poured a light gold with a thin lacey head. Banana and clove smells push through. The name depicts the taste perfectly - it's light and fruity. The carbonation and pepper notes are likely the only thing not 'mellow' about this brew. Looking forward to trying what else Weyerbacher has to offer!

Another solid offering from one of my favorite brewers...

The most shocking thing about this brew was the classic look to the beer itself - yellow, clear, and an obvious view of the carbonation. The smell was wheaty with a touch of fruitiness that blended well for the most part. I found the mouthfeel to be crisp, light bodied though more carbonated that I prefer. The fruitiness to the smell translated to what I tasted with a wheat background that strangely worked - nothing spectacular mind you, just worked. I think this might be my least favorite Weyerbacher, but even so, it's still a pretty damn good beer.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tulip

L: Clear light golden pour. Thin white head... falls fast with a thin rim of lacing.

S: Yeasty... light citrus and grains. Mild spice. Smells Belgian-ish.

T/F: Follows the nose. Very light.. cracked grains and Belgian yeast. Banana and citrus.. fruit and spice. Surprisingly complex for the low ABV. Bittering hops clean it all up. Effervescent carbonation. Light in body. The finish is fruit, spice, peppercorns and esters.

O: A light/thin ish beer but with great flavor to go with session-level ABV. Flavorful... super easy drinking and well made.

12oz bottle poured into a chalice.

A: Dull straw golden with great clarity. Rocky white head retains well and leaves chunky lacing.

S: Heavy banana and tropical esters. Pineapple. Pepper and clove. Spicy. Whiff of hops. Doughy malt base.

T: Bursting with tropical and fruity notes. Juicy pear, pineapple, banana. Spicy and mildly peppery. Doughy malt. Hop bitterness kicks up toward the back and rides into the finish.

M: Very light bodied with a thin creaminess. And carbonation lends a deep crispness. Some light hop astringency.

O: Pretty great, actually. A nice table beer. Big on taste and very easy to quaff.

On tap at the brewery.

A - Pale gold color thin but dense white lacing.

S - Light yeast, apple, pear, some banana, and pepper spice.

T - Pears, banana, slight traces of apple, some dry citrus and pepper on the back end. Nice lingering pepper, citrus, and spice.

M - Light medium body with a very dry finish.

O - Like the Merry Monks better but this one is perfect for hot weather.
