Bottle (going on 4 years old) to snifter.
Never a fan of Golden Stouts. I had this on tap in 2018 or early 2019, but did not note it knowing I had this bottle stowed; although the intent was to drink it a bit sooner.
Nonetheless, it is similar to how I remember from the fresh tap tasting. Maybe a bit mellowed. Pleasantly surprised by the aroma, that actually retained some of the coffee and does give a stout-like aroma. Color seems more like light brown with a hint of red-orange; no head. Some gelatin like globules in the bottom of the pour. I can't be too harsh on it due to the age and there are some redeeming qualities here. Medium to full body.
Raisin, oak, aldehyde, coffee, sour apple.

Golden Stout? Looks like a barleywine, tastes like a Stout. Pours dark amber with no head. Aroma is coffee and dark fruit. Taste is a bit more sweet than stout but there's some roasted notes with the malt sweetness. Feel is good, rich and coating. Overall, it doesn't taste like it looks, but it is good.

12oz bottle. Poured out a clear, orange/amber color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left a little lacing. It smelled of roasted malt, coffee and sweet toffee. Nice roasty coffee taste with toffee and caramel sweetness. Smooth finish and medium-bodied.

The third year of trying these anniversary brews form Weyerbacher and this one is so far the best...
Great looking beer with a scent that was sweet and boozy, all in one. Mouthfeel was medium-bodied, astringent, and the taste was lightly hoppy with a booze forward taste that isn't overpowering. Again, it is the best I have had of their anniversary beers. This one will be tough to top.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: cloudy caramel brown pour with a finger of white head. Decent lacing... some nasty slimers came out at the bottom of the bottle.
S: Coffee, roast, and cocoa. Smells solid... like a big Weyerbacher anniversary stout.
T.F: Light roast... strong coffee and mild cocoa. A little bit of dark fruit... grain and espresso. Mouth feel is slightly lighter than expected. A bit boozy and warming. The slimy debris at bottom got the last inch dumped.
O: Reasonable flavor, but one of the weakest Weyerbacher's Anniversary brews I've had. I wouldn't really want another.

12 FL. OZ. bottle
Served in a snifter
This beer pours a deep amber color with burnt orange highlights. It has a slight haze with chunks of yeast visible. It is topped with less than an inch of tan head that leaves no lacing.
I smell coffee with hints of chocolate.
I get a little chocolate up front that is followed by a nice coffee flavor.
Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel
I like golden stouts. This one is no exception.

Found it in a discount cart for a $1.
Cloudy amberish copper color
"Floaters" settled down to bottom, might be yeast.
Flavors not bad with a distinct chocolate/ coffee, not to strong of a alcohol taste.

$ 4.03 (Including tax)/12 oz bottle ($ 0.336/oz) from Weyerbacher, Easton, PA. Reviewed 4/19/19.
Undated bottle. Stored at 42 degrees and served at 54 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Appearance – 3.5.
Body – Gold, opaque
Head – Small (Maximum two cm, aggressive center pour), high density, brownish-yellow, short duration, diminishing to a one to two mm ring sporadically fed by effervescence and a thin partial ring.
Lacing – None – not surprising for a 11.1% ABV drink.
First pour – Dark yellow, clear.
Aroma – 3 – Initially cocoa, followed by some faint fruity hops.
Flavor – 3 – Very faint cocoa, no coffee. Ends with a slightly bitter tobacco twang. No alcohol (11.1% ABV), no diacetyl, no dimethylsulfide.
Palate – 3 – Medium, creamy, soft carbonation.
Impression and interpretation – 3- Weyerbacher has made some delicious beers over the years. This isn’t one of them.

Poured from a single-serve bottle into a tulip.
On the appearance front--the pros: an interesting color for a stout--dark amber with a decent head and solid lacing. The cons: Odd flakes/particulates, most-likely yeast that had settled to the bottom of the bottle.
Medium coffee, cocoa/baker's chocolate, and lightly-toasted malts are all present. The booze is just barely noticeable. No hopes are detectable i the aroma. Not terribly complex, but still pretty inviting.
The flavor is varied but an odd mish-mash. Chocolate and coffee both present; but also diacetyl notes, anise, cloves, nutmeg, dark fruit, dried fruit, and spicy yeast. The booze is fairly strong. Not bad, but not special either.
The mouthfeel is redeeming in many respects. Good carbonation and not sticky.
An interesting golden stout. but not special.

Darker amber and mildly hazy. Minor head which fades completely leaving no lacing at all.
Dry with a cardboard smell. Some hop and a raw burnt barley nose as well.
Boozy, brandy-like start to the taste. This more like a bitter barley wine with a touch of coffee than stout (pale or otherwise). Like the smell, this is very dry. The "stout" flavor comes from the coffee even though it doesn't taste like coffee.
