Sampled August 2021 from tap/draft in pint glass.
Appearance: Very dark black, dark color, with a thin reddish tan head of 2 fingers. The head lasted only a short length of time, and did not leave any lacing on the side of the glass.
Smell: Some chocolate, coffee, and sweet caramel aromas. There are also roasted fire aromas, along with some vanilla.
There are no hops aroma. Nice combination and balance, but the chocolate and coffee aromas dominate.
Taste: Mix of chocolate and coffee flavors. Also caramel and burnt malt flavors, and a little hop flavor. It is very smooth. There is a hint of sweetness from the chocolate, but it is balanced by the coffee and a little hop bitterness..
Mouthfeel: Low-bodied and alcohol, which matches with the 4.5%, which makes it an easy drink.
Overall: This is a good lite chocolate stout. It has a nice mix of flavors, but not as strong as imperial stouts. This is a good stout and I would buy this again, especially when I want a lighter stout that still has good flavors.
