Poured from a crowler into pint glass in February 2022. Drank it about 2 days after purchasing it at their brewpub.
Appearance: Dark black with a thick tan/brown head. Head was about 2 fingers thick, and ended up as a thin covering after a few minutes. There is very little lacing on the glass.
Smell: Strong aroma of coffee, peanuts, and chocolate. There is some roasted malt and hoppiness, but overall the roasted coffee is most pronounced.
Taste: There is a nice balance between the chocolate sweetness and roasted coffee flavors. There is some peanut and hop bitterness to enhance the taste and add some complexity. This is a very smooth stout.
Mouth-feel: Medium body, but with a smooth creamy bodied. Matched 7.3% advertised. Not as bitter as some other coffee stouts.
This is a good stout, and it has a variety of flavors that adds a nice complexity to the beer. It is smooth and enjoyable to drink. I would buy this again, but I do prefer their Tiny and Sunday Morning Stouts.
