DATE: February 25, 2018... OCCASION: stopping by Weyerbacher to pick up a gift for brother Jer, I figured I'd treat myself as well... GLASSWARE: Victory nonick... pours a murky, reasonably lively yellow-orange body... its head offers smears and wisps of white that sit about a quarter of an inch... nice immediate pine and citrus--mango, grapefruit, and some orange--but just as nicely, this balances with toffee, dank earth, basement funk and bread malts... suggests a Weyerbacher offering that can be sessioned, perhaps! first sip is chewy, bitter but not offish, lingering and fulfilling--all while encouraging the next sip... slightly resinous and oily... fits between the teeth with a medium-bodied draw... first flavors are resin, orange, grapefruit, lemon grass, guava, pineapple, and bitter herbs--all at 6%ABV!... however, Big Ern must be into balance, because as much as resin and citrus take center stage, the malt base of toffee and bread keeps this beer from floating off into abject fruitiness... fresh from a grunt filled today, this could be a go-to from a six, as it has dimension, weight, and character...

On tap at Weyerbacher.
A - Pours a very hazy medium to dark orange color with a thick ring of creamy lacing.
S - Big nose of citrus, guava, papaya, sweet grapefruit.
T - All tropical fruit from start to finish that's a little "perfumey/cloying". Papaya, guava, some orange citrus, and ends with a piney bitterness that lingers with a bitter citrus. Dank and juicy.
M - Coats the mouth with a healthy layer of resiny citrus and produces a cotton-like sensation.
O - This is one very juicy and resiny IPA!

Not much head but nice unfiltered look to this brew. Very appealing. Smells citrus but almost juicy and sweet, no malt present on my pour at least. Taste is a bit muddled, no sweetness and slight bitterness, kinda not that great. The bitterness almost sour grapefruit like with some malt background. Lingering grapefruit bitterness on the finish. Not one of my favorites.

On tap at uno’s. Aroma is dirt, floral. Yellow color, small head. Taste is ash, wood, hair spray. One of those IPAs that are typical and that others like a lot more than me."

One of the five beers that I tasted at our local Uno's as part of their sampler.
Appearance: Light brown, hazy.
Aroma: Hops and apricot.
Taste: Lovely complexity, hops, citrus and honey. Oh my!! Heavenly.
Mouthfeel: Some bitterness, but nothing unpleasant.
Overall: Just a phenomenally great beer. Of the 5 beers I tasted today, this was the best.
