Sorry for the stunted review, but until there's an app, it's going to be hard to review beers from bars and restaurants...

Arrives in a goblet and is a dark amber color with a tan head that dissipates quickly.

Smell of something hits me right away, and that's all I can smell--maybe cinnamon or nutmeg? I'm having trouble placing it. It's nice though.

Tastes a little boozy at first, but it's good. Some spices; nutmeg.

Good body, nice aftertaste, no bite. The alcohol taste dissolves into a pleasant warmth by the end.

I like this a lot. The first sip was a bit harsh, but it's really good overall.

Another nice brew discovered at the Grille Next Door in Haverhill, MA, this seasonal brew is a slightly hazy, rosey-copper color with modest white coverage and no trace of lace. The aroma is mild pumpkin spice, nothing unusual, a tad sweet with vanilla ideas. The flavor brings firm pumpkin liqueur with herbal hop and deep vanilla / allspice. This stuff is medium-plus bodied but somewhat silky in feel with tiny bubbles that produce a peppery effervescence. Nice but not highly distinctive.

On Tap at Hulmeville Inn

Weyerbacher Imperial Bourbon Pumpkin Ale looks shoe polish brown, dirty ruddy bark brown with barely a whimper of a cap up top, just some faint burnt tannish bubbles, no stick.

It takes quite a bit of time for the nose to come out off the tap, a good 10 minutes or so. Smells include fall spices, nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin esque, sweet malt. Not much barrel character, no oak, mild bourbon.

After sitting on this for a bit, big nutmeg lined up with cinnamon and the like. The pumpkin flavor is pronounced and the bourbon is barely there. Some oak/vanilla come through at the tail end. Big caramel/black malt with no real intrusion of any hops. I like the laid back bourbon, no need to mess with a great thing which is the base beer.

This bourbon version is a tad on the hot side. I get some heat right off the bat. Besides that, the carb presence is lacking and this comes off a bit dull on the mouth. The flavor on the other hand is quite big and lasting in the after.

All in all a good barel treatment that does not kill the base beer, which with all that flavor to begin with, would be hard to overcome. Besides the heat and lack of bubbles in the mouth, this was good for a go.
