The porter is served in a standard pint and is a dark brown with a smallish tan head. Just wisps of lacing.

The aroma starts nicely with roasted malts & dark fruits and then something musty creeps in and takes over.

The taste is marred by that dirty tap line funk. You know it immediately. I'm not sure if its part of the beers profile or just bad housekeeping. It overpowers the dark fruit, brown sugar and slightly charred malts that are present.

The mouth is a trifle thin, but the beer really suffers from the mustiness and funk. This used to be a lot better!

Given to me a dark mocha brown with ruby/russet highlights when held to the light. Very minimal head with no retention after first sip, not even any film. The aroma wfting from my pint glass was of a nutty caramel, mixed into a sugary cappucino. The taste was a sugary Frangelica, mocha, and home-whipped cream. Although this beer did leave my palate feeling a little to sweet for my liking, this is a beer I will order again. And certainly recommend the other Chicago suburb BA's to check out.

Sampled 2/11/05 at Taylor. A nice deep black pour with a good two finger creamy tan head off tap. Great presentation including lots of nice lacing on the glass. Nose has chocolate malt upfront mixed with hints of coffee, not bad at all, but not that pronounced.

First sip brings smooth dark chocolate maltiness with notes of coffee and a nice slight citric hop biterness on the way down. An extremely tasty porter that I could hardly put down.

Creamy medium bodied mouthfeel with smooth, small carbonation. Spot on for the style! This is a damn fine porter and was quite a pleasant suprise. Definetly recommended.
