Hints of chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. Full body with a clean finish. Distinct coffee aroma and flavor on top of the classic porter base. Cold brewed coffee is added to provide a smooth coffee forward flavor and aroma.

Notes from 1/23/2020.
Poured from a 12oz can into a pint glass.
The appearance is dark brown with two fingers of quickly receding tan foam leaving a cap. 4.25
The aroma is between light and medium in strength. The smell is mostly coffee with chocolate and roasted malt in support. 3.75
The taste is a little above medium in strength. There's mostly coffee, notes of chocolate and a long finish with roasted malt, burnt toast, and slight bitterness. 4.00
The mouth feel is closer to medium than light and has a little carbonation. 3.00
Overall, I really like the flavor. More body would greatly help this beer. 3.5

Can
Appearance: Brown / Black glass doesn't hold it's tan head very long. Opaque.
Aroma: Coffee, earthy hops (Fuggles?), burnt grain, mild sour note.
Taste: Sweet cola taste goes coffee bitter. Both notes are nice, the sweetness is a bit unexpected. The hop note is a little less in the taste than the nose.
Mouthfeel: Watery texture, low carbonation, medium light body, slightly oily finish.
Overall: Tasty, darn tasty even. Coffee flavor is sweetened, Porter is fairly traditional and well made, no real flaws to note beyond maybe a little low on the carbonation. Solid beer, worth a taste.

Pours a clear, very dark brown colour. Smells like baking cocoa, bitter coffee, rummy cherries, and roasted malts. Tastes like it smells, bitter baking cocoa up front, coffee notes, rummy cherries, and a sweet, roasted malt finish.

16oz can dated 11-18
Lots of smooth coffee flavor without the bitterness that usually accompanies it. Not much iron the nose and a bit thin. I could seriously crush these all day in the hot sun(if that were an option

Love it. They also offer it on Nitro at the brewery.

Reviewed from notes taken in March 2015 (shortly after Last Stand opened).
$5 per 16 oz draught pour. 6.3% ABV. Brewed with cold-brew coffee from Summer Moon. 30 IBUs.
HEAD: None. No lacing.
BODY: Opaque solid black. No yeast/lees or sediment is visible within.
Like the base porter, this looks typical of the style but fails to stand out with any unique or special attributes.
AROMA: Faint inexpressive generic coffee, with no roastiness or rich java notes coming through at all. Dark malt sweetness, specialty chocolate malts, a hint of nuttiness.
Very basic, suggesting a shallow simple brew (like the base porter).
Aromatic intensity is light. I detect no overt yeasty or off-notes, nor any (overt) alcohol.
TASTE: Matches the aroma. It's balanced but timid, simple, inexpressive, and shallow. Generic notes of faint unevocative coffee, shallow chocolate malt, and generic dark malt sweetness. Coffee is only dominant in the finish, but lacks earthiness, richness, roast, or any interesting or otherwise deep character that would help set this beer apart from the myriad coffee stouts and porters out there. Apparently, Summer Moon's coffee is quite insipid or the brewery just didn't commit to using enough.
A basic no-frills coffee porter with average flavour duration and intensity.
TEXTURE: Smooth, wet, medium-bodied, well-carbonated, and of adequate thickness. Should be heavier, fuller bodied, creamier, and softer.
Not oily, gushed, hot, boozy, astringent, harsh, rough, or scratchy.
Complements the taste decently but fails to elevate the beer as a whole or to accentuate specific flavours.
OVERALL: Tastes like a good homebrew - a running motif I've noticed amongst Last Stand's debut beers. Very basic for a coffee porter, and on par with what you'd expect from a new brewery with former homebrewers learning how to scale up their recipes on new equipment. Above average but pedestrian and unremarkable.
