Black with light frothy mocha head that maintains. Really prominent roasted malt sweetness, also a bit of whiskey and oak in the aroma, a real pleasure to smell. Taste follows the nose, but I get a bit less of the malty sweetness present in the aroma. Some considerable malt smokiness really comes through on the finish and lingers on the tongue. Carb level is great and you do get some heat going down, but overall it's pretty smooth for the abv.
Overall an excellent barrel aged stout, possibly top 10 for Texas BA beers in general. That's saying a lot considering Last Stand is only just over a year old at this point. Excited for more from them.

10oz snifter pour at 1st anniversary. Very dark brown with minimal head or lacing. Not much booze on the nose, mainly roasted malt with wood. Big wood on palate takes over with whiskey backing it up. Not the biggest in class but very tasty. Ran out very quickly. Glad to have had one.
