Served on tap at the brewpub in a mug.
Had the beer on their Oktoberfest day. Orange amber color with some foam.
Good malty flavor, compares favorably to the Oktoberfest style. Slight hops flavor, not overpowering. Not something I would seek out but a good selection at the pub/

I should mention before I begin that this is my favorite style of beer. That having been said this is the perfect red-orange color that I look for with this style. The coarse barely existent coarse foam head isn't that great, but it's not too shabby. The aroma is of bubblegum...how odd. I also smell candy sugar and lots of sweetness. The bubblegum flavor is on the palate too with the maltiness. It's weird the combination of the two makes it almost seem to taste like Sprees candy due to the sugary sour flavors. It's not bad, it's just not what I would expect from an Oktoberfest. It's got some nice carbonation to it for a good viscosity and consistency. It's fairly drinkable, but due to the oddness in the flavor I don't know if I'll be seeking this beer out again.

Nothing like an Oktoberfest in Oktober. This one pours a clear sunset amber topped only by a small halo of off-white micro-foam. The nose comprises red apple and caramel...basically it smells like a caramel apple. Straight up. The taste takes that caramel apple and dips it in the caramel bath again. Not sure how, but this also results in the addition of a slight rye bread flavor. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a pretty dry finish. Overall, a decent O-Fest, nothing amazing but fairly drinkable and enjoyable nonetheless.

Okay -- no reviews since 2005, here's a 2009 review because I wanted to see how the beers were going at Finn's.
A -- Clear, orange amber with a long-lasting, off-white head. Poured into the usual Finn's lager mug.
S -- Vaguely nutty and bready, a little light.
T -- Good sweet, nutty maltiness up front with a nice balance of spicy noble hops throughout and a bready aftertaste. The balance of hops is just right for style -- not overdone, yet apparent throughout the glassful. No pickle Dane, yours must'a been waaay old.
M -- Soft to syrupy mouthfeel with a medium body.
D -- Very drinkable. I'd have had another if I wasn't headed for another appointment. Good to see Finn's can still throw the hops and malts together -- nice English ale brewing today too -- the aroma wafting through the brew-house.

Very poor example of an Oktoberfest. Looks fairly good at a bright copper amber without any head but everything else about the beer is way too sweet and rotten.
There seems to be too much of the malt that gives oktoberfests their sweet syrupy quality. This beer is just too sweet and stinks of overly ripened rotten fruit.
It has a pickle quality to it as well that I just cant stand. This was a hard beer to finish. Undrinkable, and way too sickeningly sweet.
