The board stated it was cask-conditioned. Served black in color with a tan head. Reminiscent of a pint of Guinness, in appearance, even though this is a porter. The creamy head is a little darker though. Appealing aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Silky smooth and creamy with a full-bodied mouthfeel. Coming from a cask it wasn't over-chilled either. Slightly warmer, which was was nice. Flavors of milk chocolate and roasted malt are detected intially. Hop bitterness is very mild but adds depth and balances out the sweetness of the malt. Finishes mildly dry with a lingering burnt malt taste. Overall, a very enjoyable porter. I had this at the restaurant with the steak tacos and it was very good.
