Served in something akin to an oversized wine glass at the brewpub.
They describe this stuff as an imperial English IPA, and it shares its name with one of the best shredding songs of the 80s. Right on. It pours a hazy russet topped by a finger of glowing off-cream-white foam. The nose comprises toffee, booze, permanent marker, and light buttery biscuit. The taste brings in more of the same, but almost completely does away with the Sharpie character (thankfully) and adds a bit of grass and mixed greens. The body is a light-leaning medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a smooth-ish feel. Overall, I'm not sure what happened here, but the end product isn't all that great. It tastes better than it smells, but that ain't sayin' too much. I may try it again on a different day, thinking I may have gotten a bad batch or a dirty line or something, but I don't look forward to that day.
