Served in a shaker pint glass at the brewpub.
This year's ReplicAle offering from Mickey Finn's is a single version of their Pineapple Express DIPA. So it's 100% pilsner malt, American Ale yeast, and it's single-hopped with Liberty. Right on. It pours a clear amber-brass topped by a finger of lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises pineapple juice, light leek, mango, light white grape, and a small backbone of honey. The taste brings in more of the same, with mixed greens replacing the leek and some mild caramel joining the honey. It's a veritable fruit salad throughout, culminating in a mild sense of pine resin, providing some relatively balancing bitterness. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a drying finish. Overall, a pretty damn tasty IPA, especially if you like your IPAs on the tropical fruity side. So far, my favorite ReplicAle this year.
