On tap at the Grey Lodge. This was an interesting beer that poured out like murky iced tea. Amber orange in color and topped with small film of a head that disappeared after the first sip. A very unique beer to say the least. Combines the characteristics of a Belgian Ale, Weizenbock, Hefe and maybe some other styles. The aroma has a strong dry alcohol spiciness and some sweet and sour malts. The taste is strong and has a candied malt sweetness. Big bodied, but finishes dry with the same alcohol spiciness carrying over to the end. Drinkable and certainly enjoyable. A great Heavyweight offering.

This was a very tasty beer which really hit the spot. It came with a nice cloudy amber color. No head, but I believe it was pre-poured. It had a nice sweet taste, which wasn't overwhelming. A very big taste, which is what I come to expect from Heavyweight. A little to sweet to be incredibly drinkable but a very good beer.

Sampled at Extreme Beer 2004.
The beer is a hazy brass, topped with a thick ivory head. Good retention, keeping a tight mist atop the brew, and leaving small blobs of lace clinging to the sample glass.
The aroma is a pleasant sweet and sour blend, wheaty, somewhat reminiscent of both belgian and german wheat beer. Noticable candi sugar lends a sweetness atop a thick layer of estery fruitiness. Hints of banana, fig, apple and plum, with maybe a suggestion of dates. A bit of clove, reminiscent of german wheat beer. No apparent hops. Very unusual.
The flavor starts with an enormous wheat maltiness. Incredibly sweet when coupled with candi sugar, creating an almost sludgy, syrupy feel. The barley malt is also apparent, adding a bit of caramel and toastiness. Heavy estery fruit appears in the middle, with loads of banana and fig. Milder apple and plum, with some clove spiciness towards the finish. The candi sugar is present throughout, albeit in moderation. Some wheat and belgian yeast sourness reign in the sweetness, finishing with a whisp of alcohol. Some candi sugar and caramel linger in the aftertaste, leaving a mild, sticky sweetness on the palate.
Another wierd creation from the folks at Heavyweight. Challenging and interesting, blending a couple different styles into a surprisingly tasty concoction. Wild stuff, and I'm glad I had the opportunity to try it.

I tried some of this at EBF. They had their sign listing it as a "Belgian Wheat Bock". Poured a hazy golden-copper color, with a whitish head which looked creamy-smooth! Head lasted well and added nice lacing. Pleasant clovey/wheaty nose with suggestions of sweetness. It possessed a solid medium range body and was nice passing over the tongue with just minimal roughness. Taste is more clove, along with banana and wheaty malt crispness. Some sweetness on display reminded me of candi-sugar flavors present in belgian biers. More fruitiness was present towards the finish, which was a touch dry though tasty and lasting. I enjoyed this very much. Sort of a combo of Aventinus and a belgian.... Nice stuff! Zum Wohl!!

The beer exhibits a cloudy brown hue and good head retention. The beer tastes quite sweet and man is it refreshing. The bold wheat powers this brews backbone... you taste some bubblegum, banana and clove. In addition to the wheat, the beer boasts a maple and caramel complexities. Ah, very drinkable and interesting. I’m very pleased to see a new Belgian wheat beer that tastes differently. Thank you Heavyweight.

I was told that this brew used a belgian ale yeast and 65% wheat malt. It definitely had a very unique and interesting character.

A dark brown pour topped in a healthy coating of off-white foam with great retention. The nose still has a nice banana and clove aroma, but the wheat malt mixes it up a bit from what you would normally expect.

A nice medium-full body with a good level of carbonation. The flavor is big as you know to expect from Heavyweight. The banana flavor is very nice and very well balanced with spices and malts. Cloves are subtle, but beneficial. The mass of wheat malt really adds a nice toasty flavor, and it gives it a great dry finish. It is very drinkable, and I will have to make another trip to grab some more.

This micro growler ( 10oz) has been in my fridge for 2 weeks.
Perfect pour, deep garnet brown with a dense tan head. Aromas of smoking warm fruit and a hint of yeasty barnyard and banana. Flavor is intense- more intense as it warms. All ale fruity plums and grapes with a strong wheat character that meshes perfectly. Lush and nearly full bodied with a sharp tingle on the tongue. I'm not usually a big malty beer fan but this achieves a unique balance with the spicey wheat and enough hop to even things out.
Highly drinkable due to the delicious aftertaste that you just dont want to replace with anything else. I sure wish I had more!
Almost makes me want to move to Jersey!

On-tap at Bukowski's in Cambridge. Oh yeah. Beautiful dark brown with a lofty off-white head. Smells of Belgian yeast/sugar, and definite hints of wheat. Taste is magnificent. Dark fruits and definite Belgian yeast characteristics. Wheat beer esters are also present with touches of vanilla and banana bread. Very smooth and this baby was gone way too fast. There is a definite warming alcohol finish. Unknown ABV, but I would guess around 8 or 9. A fantastic but very limited brew. Find it and drink it if you can!

Served on tap at Fathead's. The color was amber, with a good head. The smell was very estery. The taste was predominantly a very fruity bouquet, sugary sweet, with a very good but not overpowering maltiness. Mouthfeel was very smooth. Drinkability-wise, certainly one I'd have over and over and over again!

Wow, didn't even really think of this one as a weizenbock, but now I can see where that comes from. A great beer, and one that I was fortunate enough to get my hands on, and hopefully will be more than OneTimeOnePlace!!!

On tap at Fathead's in da Burgh, this is one utterly most flavorful, enticing, pushin the envelope on style guideline beers I have ever had, just awesome. A must try if your in a three hour drive within any of the locations carrying it on tap. Appearance: Hazy murky, mysterious copper brown thin creammy head, with no lacing in my pint but does it really matter when a beer smells and tastes as good as this one. Aroma: Great aroma spicy wheat sharp sweatness with the maltiness of a bock, floral hop spicy and caramel tones oh my what a feat Tom Baker what a feat. Taste: Nice rolling flavor profile touch of clove banana with a rich backgound of malty unique belgian style ale touches of bubblegum and candi ties it together so well it knocks my socks off. Mouthfeel: Fuller bodied fluffy texture syrupy but not cloying so good. Drinkability very smooth and tasty, I am just feeling this one and to top it off the owner of Fathead's poured this one for free. I have to start writing Heavyweight to make this a regular, not a one time one place I can't deal with that.
