On-tap at Bukowski Cambridge

Deep brownish orange with a very nice beige head that stays and sticks. Smells of deep dark fruits, sassafrass root, and roastiness. Flavor has a neat combo of marshmallow and metallic notes but both are present just enough to be interesting. A lot of caramelly malt that has a very vinous backbone. Starts sweet and malty, ends dry. An amazing beer, complex yet easy to drink.

On-tap at bukowski's.
Appearance: a rich creamy looking cola colored brew with a dense creamy milkshake/guiness-like head that remained throughout.
Smell: toffee, big chocolate malts and big lacto almost sour milk aroma/flavor...weird but good.
Taste: big fermented lacto sweetness mixed with various big malts and a thistle scotch bite towards the end. Tastes like a milk stout mixed with a scotch ale, a very unique combination.
Mouthfeel: dense with a milky thickness that sticks to your throat.
Drinkability: one is probably enough, yet it goes down very easy.

A dense creamy head floats on deep brown beer. The bar is too dark to see its true color, like cola perhaps.

A piercing scent that seems strangely familiar, yet I can't place it.
There's a rounded quality to the flavor, like toffee. Maybe that scent is vanilla? Nah. As I drink, it grows more complex and fruity, like apricots. I have it! It smells like ... very sharp ... cheddar cheese. How strange. And now I taste cheese too. And apple chutney. Good god! It's a ploughman's sandwich in a glass.

There's a lot going on in here. One to savor.

Served in a pint glass at Kelly's. The color was dark brown, with a bit of wispy white head. The smell was a bit of sweet malt. The taste was a very nice sweet caramel malt with no hop bitterness, and the alcohol was slightly warming. Mouthfeel was very thick. As for drinkability, could certainly have quite a few of these.

A wonderful OneTimeOnePlace offering from Heavyweight; a wonderful Wee Heavy as good as any other out there. I hope that I'll be able to have this one again!

Appearance: Thin cream colored head body is the same caramel brown color as Coca-Cola, little if any lacing appearas. Aroma: Wonderful warming alcohol notes, borderd by sweet caramel and toffe malt driven notes, peated malts add and air of slight smokiness. Taste: One fo the better American made Scotch ales the best part is it's not overly sweet gingery spiced with the alcohol taking on it's warming affect over me, I think it's mighty tasty. Mouthfeel: Medium bodied very nice smooth carbonation nothing was overdone here, nice. Drinkability: Heavyweight's brews are usually very eccentric and pushing the envelope I consider this one of there more reserved brews I've tasted, still excellent I enjoyed.

Dark molasses colored beer, served with minimal head. Aroma lightly peated, more caramel notes than anything. Taste is very sweet, but nice peat notes come through. Mild bitterness on the finish, but the aftertaste is mostly sweetness. Very surprised at the 8% ABV,as I expected much lower. Alcohol is not evident. A solid beer, but perhaps not the best offering to have with buffalo wings. Not enough power to cut through the spices. Ended up eating all my celery to cleanse my palate.

Poured out a deep and dark garnet/ruby color. Very clear with a small white head of foam. This is a heavy beer. Almost cordial-like and very sweet. Full of flavors such as spices and fermented fruit. Cherries detected. The alcohol hides behind a big layer of sweet malt. This is a beer that will stick to your sides. Strong and in your face. I liked it.
