Coffee Blonde

my first beer from these guys and i liked it quite a lot, a simple but clean blonde ale with a whole heap of cold brew coffee blended into it post fermentation. i think they even brew up the coffee in house, you cant get any fresher than that! the beer still looks really pale, and has a sturdy inch of head from the tap. the coffee is really strong in the nose and taste, and i do get a caffeine kick from it, must be pretty robustly dosed, its not bitter or harsh at all, it even has some chocolate sort of sweetness to it right in the middle, and a nutty earthy density, very flavorful coffee, even an almost artificial vanilla layer in here or something in the flavor, more sweetness than i would expect from the base blonde alone, but it comes together real well. the very simple blonde lets the coffee really lead the way, and i like that in a paler beer sometimes. good carbonation, more body than i expected for this being so light, and even kind of refreshing for being off dry. cool beer, simple but well done.
