Pours an almost clear dark mahogany color with a small head that ends as light lacing.

Smells of dank grassy piney hops with hints of sweet fruits.

Tastes of sweet malt and slightly dank hops up front. A warmer glass also has some light citrus, pineapple and mango tastes. It has a slightly bitter finish.

Medium body with light carbonation. Slightly syrupy mouthfeel.

This comes across as a relatively simple old school west coast IPA. The canning date was in 9/21 ( 5 months old ) so I wonder if the dankness could be a sign of age and would like to be able to taste a young one.

Had on tap. Pours slightly hazy, orange-gold in color with minimal head. Taste is pine, orange, and grapefruit rind. Slightly bitter, medium light bodied, with moderate carbonation. Makes for a nice and tropical IPA. Very good beer. I have other IPAs I prefer but this is well worth a shot.

from a growler to a beer tulip
look; slightly cloudy copper with orange hues, 2" head, excellent retention, leaves a bubblebath and lacing
smell; pine, some bitter grapefruit, grass, less melon and passion fruit, pale malt
taste; piney hops, a little passion fruit/ grapefruit, pale malt, bitter finish
feel; medium full body; almost moderate carbonation, more than i like, a bit sticky in a very good way
overall; a solid dipa, on the old school tip but better

Growler filled at the brewery yesterday; drank in a teku glass on 10/19/15; very easy to drink for a 8.2% DIPA but could dial back the finishing bitterness

Bought a flight, but chose the zweihander DIPA to fill my growler. Nice orange cloudy color, good lacing too. Bright, clean hoppy smell along with grass and melons. Tastes great, hops right up front, sticky sweet finish along with a mouthfeel that's leaving me thirsty for more! At $18 a growler, they ain't giving it away, but I can appreciate the price, it's evident that the Brewers at Medusa spared nothing with this one.

ACBF pour. Poured a slightly hazy orange color. Interesting assortment of hops. Huell Melon and Mandarina Bavaria. Zweihander est German yea! Aroma is very citrusy but in an almost musty way. Different from conventional hop citrus. There is also a bit of Citra in here. Pale malt. Flavor is melony, citrusy and almost minty. I thought it was quite neat. Unobtrusive malt is mostly pale. Medium bodied with decent levels of bitterness. A good sample.
