Poured on tapping at the brewery.

Pours a dark copper brown color with a creamy khaki head. Not much retention but some good cobwebs lacing.

The aroma brings a ton of caramel and roasted malts. I get the faintest hint of brown sugar in the end.

The taste follows the nose. Sweet caramel and lots of roasted nuts. Very sweet but not overly so.

The feel is medium bodied with good carbonation.

Overall, a very impressive version of the English brown ale style. It's sweeter than expected but not cloying. The nuttiness does just enough to offset the caramel sweetness.

From the Medusa website: A malt-forward easy drinker, blending English Maris Otter with Patagonian caramel malts. Gently hopped with UK Pilgrim and Admiral.

Drank a 5 oz pour at the brewery

Damn. Not a huge fan of the style but this beer delivered for me. Loads of sweet caramel on the nose, nice lacing on the glass, and a balanced flavor profile. Malts dominate, hops are a nice accent. I want to drink this in the fall!
