With Activate! we’ve taken a robust porter and infused it with local coffee, masterfully roasted by Jesse Medley of Union Coffee Roasters. Our black ale’s rich cocoa and subtle caramel notes provide a lovely base to freshly roasted Burundi, a bourbon varietal described as tart, juicy, with fruity characters of strawberry, blackberry, apricot, lemon, and grapefruit.

Awesome head right out of the can. It’s a little flat, but the flavor more than makes up for that with a nice coffee flavor. Smells a bit fruity but the coffee flavor overwhelms that when drinking. Got a 4 pack in cans. Highly recommend if you like dark beers.

Moderate beige head. Good lattice of lace on the glass. The liquid is dark brown but light passes through the center of the glass.
More cocoa than coffee to the smell. Sweet but not overly so.
A mocha Porter with subtle notes throughout the tasting. I get Baker's chocolate and milk chocolate as well as a distinct black coffee flavor. Dry throughout with the aftertaste drawing out the black patent malt bitterness. Full bodied with a higher than most carbonation level.
