Hoppy Belgian - This pale, golden ale was fermented with a traditional Trappist yeast and then dry-hopped with Amarillo and Czech Saaz hops. Dry, with classic Belgian esters giving way to intensely floral and herbal hop characters.

Cloudy, greenish gold color. Very good lacing in the form of rings, streaks and some blankets in between.
Interesting smell which features soft pale malt, light berry, and surprisingly, coffee. After several whiffs, the overall aroma is like a lightly hopped fruit punch.
The flavor is complex...I get some sweeter flavors like blackberry and apple but in the swallow, I get the Belgian yeast and the bittering black pepper hop. Very nice. Neutral body with an elevated effervescence. The finish is shockingly dry given the initial flavor. Nice lingering hop spice aftertaste.

Tap at Evivva in Marlborough
Huge frothy creamy head fades slowly nice lacing, murky orange color
Nose big fruity Belgian esters, mild phenols peppery and spice, little sweet golden Belgian malts, little toasted biscuit malt, mild grassy floral herbal hops
Taste brings a lot more of the same, grassy herbal hops or front, mild bitterness, sweet candy malt, blond malt and a little toasted biscuity, touch candi sugar maybe, nice fruity esters, mild peppery phenols, little lemony
Mouth is med bod, fluffy carb
Overall very nice, great Belgian mixed with good hops,

My growler was labeled as 6.8% ABV but the Medusa website lists the beer at 7.2%; very crisp and hoppy without being bitter; not my go-to style but this is a great beer from Medusa: "Hoppy Belgian - 7.2% This pale, golden ale was fermented with a traditional Trappist yeast and then dry-hopped with Amarillo and Czech Saaz hops. Dry, with classic Belgian esters giving way to intensely floral and herbal hop characters"
