LightRunner is the culmination of our recent work in developing Medusa’s house yeast strain for crafting New England-style IPAs. Juice-forward, intermingling intense stonefruit esters with a beautiful blend of tropical fruit and tangerine notes from Mosaic and Amarillo hops.

Very average IPA. Canned on 01/03/23 so obviously not fresh which would explain the underwhelming flavor profile.

A one-month-old can here, poured into a willi becher glass. It’s a pale orange color, translucent, certainly letting more light thorough than your typical hazy IPA. Nose is mild citrus, peach, maybe a touch of vanilla. Taste is tangerine, a little peach, not much else. No bitterness whatsoever. Nothing but fruit juice. Tastes like the liquid left over after you eat a fruit cup. This is an IPA? Wouldn’t have known it but for the label. Tastes more like a tangerine flavored blonde ale. A beer for people who don’t like beer. Thin, one dimensional, inoffensive but there’s nothing pulling me back for another sip. A very underwhelming effort from a brewery that usually does things right.

Tall can...with "5/4/21" stamped on the bottom.
Typical hazed n juicy looking pour, supports a lasting frothy and looser bubble cap.
Mango and melon (what a nice combo) on the sniff.
Tasty, pleasing and freshly flavor brew. On the palate is more mango/melon, as well as a hint of ripe pineapple. Well crafted and well worth a try....

decided to pick one up as part of a create your own variety pack ... really glad I did, this was a very pleasant surprise that put medusa brewing company on my radar .... will definitely go in search of more ..... I'm not very articulate when it comes to beer review lexicon but I do have a fairly long history of trying various beers and I will confidently state that I wish I'd known of this one a long time ago, it's far better than many things that I've spent $ on over the years !!
