Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a very lightly hazed orange amber color with a small head of white foam. The head fades very rapidly, leaving whisps of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heaviest of a wheat bread aroma mixed with notes of orange and candied orange peel. Along with these smells comes a bit of clove and coriander spice, mixed with a touch of ginger and a moderate showing of lemon and lemongrass.
Taste – The taste starts with a crisp wheat bread flavor paired with some of the orange and orange peel that are in the nose. There is also some spice as well, being a mix of clove, and coriander, along with some notes of white pepper and a touch of nutmeg. As the taste marched forward the orange citrus fades a touch, lessening the sweeter tastes a tad. Some light lemon peel and lemon juice flavors come onto the scene, giving a touch of bitter. The graininess and wheatiness get more intense toward the end of the flavor transition, and with a bit of hay, one is left with a nice crisp and clean citrus wheat taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body is very light and crisp with a moderate carbonation level. A bit higher carbonation would have been nice to accentuate the easy drinking and crisp nature, but that said, the thin body did a nice job of matching the crisp. Overall, the feel was pretty nice.
Overall – A nice summer sipper with a easy natured wheat and citrus nature.
