Purchased fresh at the source in July 2024 and drunk a week later.
L: Hazy golden yellow with a huge, fluffy, bright-white head. Heaps of small-bubbled carbonation streams up the glass.
S: Did someone say galaxy? Passionfruit, peach, and pineapple leap from the glass. There's a hint of spicy hop load in the aroma, and I suspect hop burn might be about to enter my life!
T: In the mouth, peach dominates, but the passionfruit is not far behind. There's a definite overload of hops and an almost instant warmth and prickle in my stomach and throat from the burn they bring. The bitterness is very Galaxy-like, with a sharp, almost acrid note that lingers after the swallow. The beer finishes long, sweet and acrid, which doesn't make sense on paper but describes what I'm getting. Maybe halfway through the glass, the beer is beginning to grate on me a little bit, with the burn and hop overload heading towards unbalanced territory. I suspect this would not be followed by a second can without something lighter in between.
M: The mouthfeel is full at first and slightly thin at the end. Carbonation and carbonic bite are low, but the kick from the hops makes it feel sharper than it is.
O: I'm a little indecisive about this one. I enjoyed it at first, but I probably became fatigued with the beer at the halfway mark and, as a result, finished it quicker than I otherwise would have.
Cheers!
