First had poured from 16.9-oz. bottle into snifter. Aged for 12 months in small-batch barrels from Thibodaux, used for LA1, Louisiana’s first aged whiskey since Prohibition, this barrel-aged stout smells wonderful and drinks bigger than 8.2.

Poured into a tulip glass from a pint growler.
A: Cola brown with a tan one finger head that dissipates to a foam ring. Spotty lacing.
S: Anise, leather, dark fruits, smokey.
T: Sweet, charred chocolate. Toasty licorice. Some dark fruits pop up, too. Let it warm up for maximum taste.
M: Low to medium with medium, dry carbonation.
O: The best effort yet from Natchez Brewing. Now I see why it went so fast at the brewery. This is a tasty stout that would go well with cheesecake or a slice of sausage pizza. Find it if you can.
