This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head and a little bit of lacing.
This smells very sweet, but with almost a weird vegetal astringency - the strawberry on the nose just feels kind of weird. There’s also lots of chocolate.
Luckily the taste is not as odd as the aroma, but it’s still not the best effort. Fruited stouts are tough to pull off, and the various adjuncts here kind of just merge together into a generally fruity sweet muddled taste. There’s basically no barrel character.
This is thick and creamy, with very little booziness.
This is pretty uninspired overall. It’s not necessarily bad, outside of the nose, but it’s entirely forgettable, and I don’t need to have it again. Although, chances are I won’t anyway, as the bottle count is absurdly low.
