Imperial stout aged for 22 months in Willett rye barrels with a blend of Madagascar and Tahitian vanilla beans. We took our traditional imperial stout base, amped up the oats and aged the result in a variety of barrels. After 12 months, we tasted through our barrel room and selected the best rye barrels, selecting those that specifically represented vanilla custard-like notes with a finish of rye spice before adding the split vanilla beans
