Dark mahogany body; cloudy; thin yet persistent head, light khaki color. Great aroma; dark fruits, figs and plums; slight zesty spiciness; muted phenols on the nose. Initial nice taste with a light red fruit flavor; turns phenolic quickly; acrid bitterness. Medium-heavy body; slick and smooth; biting; somewhat sweet yet finishes with a kind of sharpness.
With no idea of when this beer was produced or canned, all I can say is I hope a fresher version would have more depth and balance. It is not totally undrinkable, but I'd pass on another beer (at least from this batch).
Pouring temperature: 45 °F; canning info: n/a
