This was one of the four beers in the series that I ordered on Tavour late last year. Never had anything from Main & Mill before but I loved the idea and the labels behind this, as this turned out to be a good German Pilsner that was perfect for this unseasonably warm day here in Jersey!
Of course, this poured gold with a nice, waxy haze to it with plenty of head topping it off. That settled pretty quickly and completely as there wasn't any left after a while and the same could be said for the lacing. Plenty of bubbles in this throughout although they weren't big and it didn't detract from the taste. Enough hops were in the nose and taste, along with grain, grass, and bread as this was a typical take on the style. The body was balanced as some spice came through once this warmed up, with the mouthfeel being bright, lemony, and softly slick. Plenty to like here without anything being outstanding in any aspect.
The alcohol was spot-on as I could have easily quaffed all 4 cans in a sitting, without having to rush myself. No date was to be found anywhere on the can but when you have a label like a baseball card, who's to notice? This aged well and I wish I had obtained the other series that came out before this!
