Having this beer on tap at the brewery, this beer draws a medium brown color with some deep ruby highlights on the edges that the light reflects off of nicely. Had a white head that’s about half an inch thick on first drawn and served that settles fairly quickly to a thick ring lining the inside of the glass. Aromas of roasted malts, coffee, a bit of chocolate, and some herbal, resinous, Slightly dank hop notes. A very similar flavor profile, with the aforementioned roasted malts along with Coffee, chocolate and certainly a bit of oatmeal. This is all followed by the previously referenced herbal, dank, resinous hop notes that give just a bit more bitterness here. However, I don’t want anyone to get the impression that this beer is overly bitter in any way. The bitterness is quite refined, and the different aspects of it are all integrated into the flavor profile quite nicely indeed. Has a crisp, also smooth, just slightly gritty, Medium bodied about the field with light to moderate carbonation. This one really coats of the inside of my pallet nicely after each step, and all of the favors linger for awhile in the aftertaste. A good, solid representation of the style of beer.

I tried this beer at the brewery. It was part of a six sample flight. It poured a opaque dark with ecru head that left some nice lace. The scent had very nice roast notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with subtle roast notes. The mouthfeel was lighter in body and had good carbonation. Overall it was a solid beer.
