Purchased at brewery south shore location.
Poured into Alchemist Spiegelau glass a darker gold/yellow/orange with a slight neon glow. Dense, cloudy, opaque.
Aroma a veritable basket of ripe pineapple, mango, papaya, along with good ol' grapefruit. Some faint alcohol and astringency.
Taste follows nose in a barrage of flavors, a brawl to assert dominance. Nothing prevails, and it's onto a chewy mouthfeel augmented by low carbonation.
It finishes with a somewhat harsh acidity and astringency. Not a welcomed hop bitterness. Not the soft,
pillowy lushness of the style.
Need a cold glass of water. Gotta put out the fire. It's burning down the house.

Served in a s after glass from the can.
Appearance: Deep hazy gold color with medium bubbles the body. White head which had an initial rise of maybe half a finger's length off the body.
Smell: Floral aroma which hints of sweet yellow grapefruit. Lemon skin and hints of hop pellets just hovering your nose.
Taste: smooth malty and filled with a se.i sweetness which clinches your palate. Citrus juice and touch bitter.
Mouth: Sticky body with medium carbonation.
Overall: I should have bought more, honestly had become a sand city favorite of mine which I do hope to see again real soon.

Pours a murky pale yellow/vanilla color with a full and retaining head of white foam and nice lacing. The nose is nicely floral and full of hops and citrus fruit. A big burst of hop notes hit upfront on the initial few sips. Soft and plush with a smooth flow that finishes slightly bitter. Big fruit tones with tons of depth-notes of mango, kiwi, grape, mixed berries, and apricot. Full bodied drinking with a mixed feel that sways between juicy and creamy. Despite the high abv the beer remains highly drinkable and flowing but still manages to punch you in the face.
Overall, just crazy good hop juice.

Traded for this a while ago, but I'm not sure when as there wasn't a date on the bottom of the can. This turned out to be on par with the other offerings that I've recently had from Sand City as it was dank, juicy, and easy to drink given how much alcohol was in this. It was quite hard to keep this in my glass until the end of my session, since this was so smooth!
Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was a turbid peach with plenty of head to top it off. The lacing that was left behind was in the form of bubbles that were scattered as it was hard to discern the rings in them. Lots of tropical fruit, cream, soft hops, and wonderful, bright citrus in the muted nose as they all burst forth to a greater extent in the taste. Star fruit and passion fruit came into the mix as this was quite juicy and easy to quaff. A bit of hop burn came through in the aftertaste and the carbonation was lively enough to keep this from feeling too heavy or weighted down.
Plenty of booze here but I could only feel some of it on my breath and hardly any in the aftertaste as the warming effect was quite mild and gradual. Basic malt ensured body but let the flavors shine as this ended up being a great example of the style, that also bordered on a New England IPA. Would love to have a fresher can of this in the near future!

16oz can from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 4.99. Canned 3/1/19. Served in a teku. Enjoyed 3/19/19.
Pours a hazy orange with a tall cap of loose white foam. Retention is minimal, amounting to a fine ring around the edges and some loose curtains of lace where the initial head had rested.
Smells of mandarins, tangerines, berries and pale stone fruit with only a little bready sweetness.
Tastes quite juicy. Tangerines, lime, grapefruit, passion fruit, faint strawberry and lemon cake.
Medium full feel with puffy carbonation. The juice remains in the tangerine lime cake finish.
My second of three Sand City brews further shows that these guys make some really tasty IPAs. Burning Down The House is a pleasantly assertive imperial NEIPA and well worth a try if you happen to enjoy hops as I do.

No comparison to ménage, but it’s a solid imperial IPA. Pineapple and Citrus stands out, smooth finish. Very drinkable.
