Smooth pineapple taste, this has been one of the better releases by Sand City over the past few weeks.

Bought on day of release at the brewery tasting room, came in a 4-pack of 16oz cans.

Pours a opaque pineapple yellow color with a thin head. On the nose, the pineapple whacks you in the face, along with a pleasant pine note in the background. The pineapple dominates the nose. On the taste, very dense pineapple flavor, but the carbonation keeps it from being like drinking pure juice. There's a brightness to the acidity, and a moderate thickness to the mouthfeel. The hops come up quickly after the initial juice hit, and the bitterness cuts through the sweetness. On the finish, the texture thins out in a good way (so it doesn't over-coat your palete), and there is a lemon peel note along with the lingering hoppy bitterness.

Overall a really excellent collab IPA that focuses on a very distinct fruit character. If you don't like pineapple, don't bother with this one, but if you're a fan then you'll really enjoy it. I think there is a tiny bit of alcohol spike here that might blow over after sitting in the can for a week or two, so this might be one to buy and sit on for a few days.

Aroma pineapple big time. Nice lacing as always with sand city. Pours golden. Taste big pineapple, orange, mango and banana. Super crushable. Great collaboration.

Brewing anything with pineapple and pulling it off is tough. Nailed it.

Sand City/Finback collab, 8% abv DIPA, "refermented on heaps of pineapple," double dry hopped with Mosaic and Azacca hops... 11/25 release... Opaque pineapple-orange juice-looking beer with a finger or two of head on top and some thin lacing left behind... Bursting with tropical juiciness, pineapple at the fore, underscored with elements suggesting orange and mango... Smooth and soft, tingly with tanginess - another entry into that beer fruit juice smoothie category... Excellent stuff...

Tall can

Great looking NE IPA style brew....clouded, lasting and puffy cap, leaves fine sheeting and strands of lacing

Pineapple load on the nose

Delicious brew, loaded with lush and ripe tropical fruit notes, pineapple, mango, oranges, banana....super smooth and flavorfu, top notch creation, Sand City can do no wrong....go get some...

From the can, pours cloudy yellow color with a 1-2 finger foamy off white head that faded slowly and left very good spotty lacing, with a lot of sediment floating in it. It really looked like pineapple juice.

First thing I smell is the pineapple that's mixed with graham crackers, lemon zest, orange peel, grapefruit, clementine, toasted grains, biscuit, guava and lots of citrus and tropical fruit.

Tastes like it smells with lots of citrus and tropical fruit, then the tangy sweet pineapple, clementine, orange, toasted grains, biscuit, caramel, tea leaf, light peppery spices, buttered wheat bread, lemon zest, yeast and fresh squeezed OJ. I love pineapple so this fruit addition is right up my alley and done in a way that the guest fruit is the star but doesn't dominate the flavor profile and let's this resemble all the best DIPA qualities that Sand City normally offers.

Not familiar with Finback brews yet, but this was a nice collaboration beer which hid the ABV perfectly, brought a nice level of bitterness and overall went down smooth.

If you like pineapple, seek out this beer. Outstanding fruit expression that transitions into a wonderful, archetypal Sand City DIPA base reminiscent of the ONE series as it warms. Adjunct addition really adds to the base here rather than detracting or working orthogonally.

I have been called a homer before and often wear that tag with pride as some of the best suds in the country are coming from New York, but there is the rare occasion that homerism aside...we've stumbled upon something special and homerism shouldn't be considered a factor...and this is just that beer. Sure this is from finback and sand city...two of the areas finest ipa makers, but this beer....THIS beer!!!

Say that it's the 420 lbs of pineapple...say it's the double dry hop of mosaic and azacca...say it's the culmination of two of the areas finest breweries coming together when both are in their moment...but don't say it's homerism. Say it with your wallet, say it with the hours you wait in line...say it with your liver...say it to your trade partners...say it in your social media...fucking shout it out...from the roof I'm ready to go! Fives...
