This is a pleasant stout. The roasted malt hits the nose and the palate. I'd like to see more coconut flavor and a little less of the sweetness on the back end, but this is a fantastic stout. I don't taste any bit of the 7.5% alcohol.

Appearance - Pours black with a nice tan head that settles to a thick rocky ring, nice retention. Spotty lacing.
Aroma - Big bitter chocolate, coconut is there but subtle, lots of roasted malts, caramel and vanilla.
Taste - The coconut is again is very mild big chocolate, roasted malts, char coffee and caramel.
Feel - Medium bodied a little thin and the carbonation is just a touch more than I would like. Slightly dry finish.
Overall - Solid stout love the char and big chocolate. Feel was a bit of a letdown other than that very tasty.

16 oz can, direct from the brewery a few days ago...6/17/19 packaging date.
Pours dark and stout like, leaving nice looking fine lacing and sheeting.
Soft nose of cafe au lait, milk chocolate and yes coconuts.
Delicious stout...more coffee, more milk chocolate, more coconuts....smoth, flavorful and super easy drinking with the 7.5% well in the background...does SCBC make a bad beer?

Pours black with a thin cap of white head that left some spotty lacing. Smells and tastes of coconut, roasted coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, roasted malts and some char. The coconut really comes out as the beer warms. Light to medium bodied for the style, lightly carbonated, creamy mouth feel. Not quite as good as the base beer.

Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a conical pint glass; canned 06/17/19, code DRUPE.
A: Pours a rather dark brown color with a three finger, foamy, light brown head, at least a finger of retention, and sticky rings of lacing.
S: Aromas of mocha, cafe au lait, toasted coconut, hazelnut, blackberry, and plum.
T: Sweet. Flavors of chocolate, coconut, hazelnut, molasses, and sarsaparilla. Light to moderate bitterness in balance with the sweetness and flavor pallet.
M: Medium to full bodied with solid carbonation. Creamy and smooth.
O: A delicious, flavor enhanced American Stout.

A pure black color on the pour with a fast brown head. Lots of roasted chocolate malt on the nose with subtle coffee. A big hit of that roasted chocolate malt rushes in on the first few sips. Rather smooth on the flow with a semi-sweet/semi-bitter coffee finish. Additional notes of cocoa, caramel, vanilla, tannin, leather, and char. The coconut takes a rather moderate tone- you know it's there but it does not over-power the base. It comes off as a rather tasty sweet nutty flavor. Almost feels like a hazelnut flavored coffee. A moderate mouthfeel that seems to have a bit more body than the base variant.
Overall, pretty nice stuff and an improvement over the base variant.
