Pours a cloudy yellow-orange with a one inch white head that left a multitude of small spots of lacing. Smell is predominantly citrus with earthy notes and a bit of pepper. Tastes of grapefruit, grapefruit pith, lemon, lemon peel, pine, earthy notes, floral elements, a touch of black pepper and a hint of malt. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, medium bitterness and a lingering dry finish.

Canned 08/31/19, this was not as hoppy as most SC DIPA’s, but the brew was well balanced with toasted grains, sweet malt, biscuit and graham cracker mixed with piney hops, fresh cut flowers, floral hops, lemon zest, tangerine, orange peel and faint grapefruit. The carbonation is low, the bitterness is mild and the finish is on the dry side with peppery spices like rye trailing the biscuit and toasted grains. Smooth and easy to drink, this is another solid beer in the Secret Spot series.
