Pours black with a one inch fluffy tan head that left islands of blotchy lacing. Smells of hazelnut, dark chocolate, dark roasted malts and coffee. Tastes of hazelnut, dark chocolate (think liquefied Nutella), cocoa, roasted malts, bitter coffee and a hint of figs. Medium to full bodied, soft carbonation, dry finish and a just shy of creamy mouth feel.

Pours pitch black color with a 2 finger thick creamy tan/brown head that was packed with bubbles that faded slowly and left excellent lacing.

They nailed it with the smell and taste. Basically take the original version with tons of roasted malts, burnt coffee grinds, rich cocoa powder, bitter piney notes and then add in smoky, roasty hazelnuts and dark chocolate or bakers chocolate on the back end. Very smooth for 7.5% ABV, I really liked how they incorporated the hazelnuts to be the star ingredient.
