Pours so dark mocha brown that the brew looks black colored with a huge foamy 2 finger thick head that was packed with bubbles of all sizes that popped when it dissipated and receded slowly, leaving really nice foamy lacing.
Smells of coconut, toasted coconut, dark chocolate, burnt coffee grinds and molasses up front, with some trailing hints of vanilla or espresso beans, brown sugar and roasted nuts. Very malty with the coconut adding nice complexities and a slightly tropical twist to a coffee stout, which is a nice change of pace.
Tastes of burnt coffee grinds, brown sugar, caramel malts, roasted grains, coconut, a sweetness like vanilla or vanilla wafers, toasted coconut, char, faint soy sauce, coconut water and almond milk. Super complex with a nice roasty bitterness, this was spot on for a coffee stout with coconut.
