Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a Sand City conical pint glass; no production information -- purchased at the brewery last weekend. Retried 12/22/2020.
A: Pours a hazy, garnet red color with raspberry highlights, a short-lived frothy, pink head, rim retention, but remarkably decent lacing.
S: Aromas of wet hay/barnyard on first tasting initially, not evident on the second many weeks later. I can pick out cranberry and maybe cherry. Somewhat vinous.
T: Dry and lightly sour. Strong toast/dry hay flavor initially, less so the second time around, but either way with a berry melange with more cranberry than anything else. A subtle cinnamon note, definitely, especially the second time. Bitterness subtle but in evidence.
M: Light bodied with relatively low carbonation (although persists lightly throughout). Easy drinking
O: My first wild from Sand City. Liked the dryness, but that toast/dry hay flavor is not much to my liking. Definitely drank better after "lagering" for several weeks in my beer refrigerator.
