With Sand City Brewing open in Lindenhurst, I took the opportunity to pick up their Message in a Can. It's a collaboration with Vitamin Sea Brewery at 11%. This beer is imperial stout, advertised with almonds vanilla and cacao nibs. The color is an intense dark brown and the head is past off white into brown. The roasted malt is all over the nose. The alcohol is definitely present in the taste, but doesn't burn. It's pleasantly toasty with maybe almond and vanilla. I enjoyed this and would drink it again on a cold night.
