16oz glass at Beer Revolution - sure I'll see cans of this soon enough.
This beer appears a clear, medium copper amber colour, with one rather skinny finger of wispy and bubbly off-white head, which leaves some decent streaky lace around the glass as things quickly subside.
It smells of earthy clover honey, bready and doughy caramel malt, and some mildly phenolic booziness. The taste is gritty and grainy caramel malt, a touch of biscuity toffee, muddled dark orchard stone fruit, mead-like honey essences, a touch of earthy yeastiness, and more of that high-test Continental lager alcohol astringency.
The carbonation is fairly understated in its workaday frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and more or less smooth, as that typical heat takes a minor toll here. It finishes sweet, boozy, and well, just that.
Overall, this is pretty much par for the course for this style, with the honey just adding to the wowee sauce quotient. Not exactly certain what this has to do with dancing goats - oh, right, it's a Maibock.

946ml can poured into tulip 1/5/17
a slight haze in a light golden amber body, slow tiny bubbles streaming up the side, thumbs width falls quickly but manages to leave a couple distinct rings
S floral hops and honey, toasty cereal, some booze, smells like a sweet maibock
T has some of that cheap strong euro lager thing going on that I get in every version of the style, not a fault by any means just what it reminds me of
M has some weight, almost syrupy but the bubbles soften it up, sweet grains and a little heat
O as far as maibocks go its pretty good, the honey works with the malt profile
not my favorite style but I can't blame the beer for that, the 2 pint cans pretty sweet, not sure if I've ever a 946ml can before.....
