I spoke with the brewer on this recipe, he noted it was pretty much his pale ale recipe, with changes in the hops and additions of brown sugar and corriander.
Aroma has a dark malty sweet presence with notes of raison.
Pours with a dark firm head that's creamy looking and shows lacing. Dark amber with orange and slightly cloudy.
A little twang on the tongue initially with malt and mild dryness noted. Middle to finish from malt leading to a long conclusion. Notes of caramel. Hops present with mild bitterness. Slightly fruity as warms.
Soft feel with a small bite of malt. Well balanced carbonation. As warms shows some thinness.
Feels warms inside, but not much evidence of alcohol in taste. Brewer noted the corriander didn't present as much as he would have like and I would agree. Enjoyable, but not quite as complex as I expected.

I initially had trouble identifying this beer, I left with the growler and a name. Poured a darkish orange-brown with a small white head. Has notes of floral, chocolate, and hops in the aroma. Taste is very complex. Coffee, roasted malt, citrus, and a small hops finish. This is a delcious beer, that may even be better when I try a warmer sample.
