Aroma has a slightly sweet malty character. Seems to be a deep red wine quality (like a burgundy) to it (tannins?). Hint of alcohol. Also the 1056 quality.
Growler wasn't filled well so it poured with a lesser head. The head was smallish, but of nice color (tannish) and creamy firmness. Beer color was deep red of almost burgundy. Good looking.
Flavor of a nice heavy malt, pushing towards roast/smoke, but not quite there. No hops and no caramel. Soft sweetness up front with a deeper fruit notable at times (up front and middle/end). Heaviness feels drying on tongue.
Very nice thick feel with a slippery quality and soft carbonation. Quickly warming. Feel is nicely done.
I give this brewer credit with trials of a variety of styles despite the limitations he's given (eg. location and yeast). This captures qualities of a good wee heavy. I especially like the feel. Nicely done and enjoyable.

Appearance: Dark brown body, hazy, with a small head that fades fast.
Smell: Roasted maltiness, slight chocolate.
Taste: Alcohol and malt, very dark, roasted and slightly burnt, maltcentric. There are also some coffee and cocoa notes in the background. Very good.
Mouthfeel: Slick and fairly full, good.
Drinkability: A very nice beer, it's been a while since I have had a nice Wee Heavy.
