Aroma notes dark malt and slight roast character with the distictive 1056 quality.
Dark color pushing black with deep red color in the light. Clear. Medium tan head with decent stamina.
Moderately heavy malt character with very little sweetness. Medium to higher roast leading to pleasing dyrness and bitterness that starts midway until the finish (which isn't short).
Medium body. Medium charbonation. Somewhat smooth, not lager clean.
Feels porter like with a bit of heaviness and lack of lager qualities. But the taste is nice and this is easily drinkable.

A very drinkable and enjoyable schwarzbier from bandana. The head is creamy and smooth, the body is carbonated to make this beer very sessionable. From the nose comes chocolate maltiness, as well as some coffee (bothe flavors also make their presence felt in the taste). The taste also has a very distinct hop profile compared with many beers in the style, and it is not afraid to end bitterly or interestingly. I really enjoyed this beer, more than the last couple that were released by bandana.
