Copenhagen 26/10 2024. 44 cl can from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. Symmetric can design in brown with melting chocolate and lips oozing all over the place.
Pours opaque dark brown with a light beige head. Settles as paper thin layer of of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, sugary and malty odor mingling with a light earthy, bitter scent. Milk chocolate, toffee and caramel. Dark bitter chocolate with a touch of leather.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a strong sweetness followed by a surprisingly strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter dark chocolate. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.
Chocolate Stout, indeed

440ml can into a pint glass. Freshness dating impossible to decipher.
Looks okay in the glass, very dark brown body. Tan head fizzes away to a thin ring and covering.
Amazing strong caramel aroma.
On tasting, the caramel is there, though not as strong as the nose would suggest. There are some chocolate notes, with a light to medium roast.
Mouth close to full, finish a chocolate roast.
Overall, nice enough. The roast is certainly enough for balance. Can't help but wonder if the caramel taste was as strong as the aroma, and the roast was lighter, whether the beer would be better or tooth destroying.

Dark black with pretty much no head. Smell is sweet, chocolate and caramel like. taste of milk chocolate, caramel and slight carbonation. Also a little on the thin side. If it was thicker and not so carbonated then it would be a top class beer and because of this it's so frustrating :( solid beer though :)

440ml Can from Morrisons (£3):
Black with a bubbly, reddish brown head that disappears almost as soon as it forms with the beer looking quite still too. It's very sweet smelling with lots of chocolate, sugars & some vanilla along with the odd milky note too. Some caramel bits round things off but the sweetness carries over to the taste with a lot of caramel & chocolate malts dominating. It's a lively, well carbonated beer despite initial looks whilst the body was fairly smooth. It's a little on the sweet side of things but it was drinkable & definitely enjoyable, although it could have been a little better balanced.
