Copenhagen 25/2 2021. 44 cl can from Best of Beers web-shop. Strange symbol in black and gold on the can.

Pours opaque, dark brown with a small, dense beige head. Settles as thin patch of foam unable to over the urea of the beer. No lacing.

Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet pure candy-like chocolate and sugar odor. Brown sugar, milk-chocolate, caramel, lactose, chocolate-cookies with hints of alcohol.

Light carbonation. Medium thick, a bit viscous, oily, slightly sticky, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet but with a nice, light bitter undercurrent. Like Coffee in a Frappé.

Quite the milk-chocolate bomb. But pleasant enough and it avoids being cloying.

Pours a pitch-black coloration with a small, creamy head. Smells of caramel malt and more caramel, with hints of coffee and chocolate also coming through, although the aroma is very much dominated by the caramel here. Taste is a great balance of caramel malt and salted caramel, with some milk chocolate and distinct roasted coffee also coming through, as well as just a hint of licorice. Finishes sweet and roasty, with some salted caramel, milk chocolate and coffee lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a rich body and medium carbonation.

Is this a pastry or a coffee stout? Hard to say and that's definitely a good thing. While this smells just like a salted caramel milk chocolate bar, the roasted coffee comes through a lot more on the tongue, providing a great balance to the sweeter notes here. This also somehow manages to taste less boozy and more rich than the ABV would suggest, with quite a full body and mouthfeel. While it's a bit too sweet for my personal taste, overall this still makes for a decadent and well-balanced brew with quite distinct salted caramel and roasted coffee notes.
