Pours a clear amber to golden color with a fine pored, stable, bigger white head atop.
Aromas of this are defined by potato peel, overcooked peas and rich straw, as well as a subtle, bread dough forward sweetness.
Has a well developed, refreshing effervescence to it, highlighting its light and well balanced body.
Tastes of sugar sprinkled pretzels, creamy toffee and hay wrapped herbs, producing a lingering, yet noticeable dryness. This finds its balance in a rustic maltiness, which softens all other flavors in this a bit, creating a complex, well nuanced beer which drinks quite easily at the same time. Finishes with bread rind, lasting, dry and spicy hops and a whiff of caramel, leaving the palate with a clean crispness.
Very well done Zoigl with a convincing balance to it, together with a very intriguing, well balanced malt complexity.
