This full bodied porter was brewed using several specialty malts to give it a deep dark color and rich flavor profile. In addition to the specialty malts in this brew, 20% of the grain bill was made up of rye malt giving this porter a wonderfully spicy malt complexity. The robust dark malts combined with the spicy rye give this beer a truly unique flavor profile!

Came in a standard pint a deep dark chocolate brown with a lighter tannish colored creamy head atop.Chocolate and lighter rye spiced notes in the nose.A good punch of sharp rye up front on the palate with bitter chocolate and roast flavors coming together as well.I think a solid rye porter, well balanced.

Undated bottle at 45 degrees into shaker
Aroma of malt and rye
Head average (4.5 cm, aggressive pour), light brown, creamy, diminishing to 3 mm ring and rocky layer
Lacing OK – broken rings and partial curtains of tiny to medium bubbles
Body dark brown, opaque
Flavor begins slightly sweet with roasted malt and a hint of rye spiciness; no hops, no alcohol, no diacetyl
Palate medium to full, creamy, lively carbonation

Pours a nice dark color with a little light coming through. Has a nice half finger size head on the top. I did not get any Rye in the nose. When it came to taste i didn't get much either. was very easy drinking and had a dry finish. Thin creamy mouth feel to it. OK beer but definitely needs more rye.

served on tap in a shaker pint
very dark brown almost black, off white head. not sure I pick up any of the rye flavor. If I didn't know, would have pegged as a normal porter. moderate roast flavor, easy drinking.
